Rainer Schorr is also involved in several other ventures, such as project development, fund advisory, and public listing of real estate companies. He has completed over 900 projects, 500 properties in Berlin, and approximately € 4 billion in developments.

Schorr’s Shift from Privatization to Innovation
Rainer Schorr started his career as a member of management of Treuhandanstalt Berlin and Dresden, a state-owned agency that privatized the former East German enterprises after the reunification. He then joined Aengevelt Immobilien GmbH & Co. KG, a leading German real estate service provider, as a managing director of its Berlin branch.
In 1998, he founded SIAG Schorr Immobilien AG, his own real estate company that focused on residential and commercial properties in Berlin and other major German cities.
Schorr’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to pursue various opportunities in the real estate market, such as acquiring, developing, and selling properties, as well as launching and managing funds for institutional and private investors. He also made several companies public, such as Accentro Real Estate AG (formerly Estavis AG), GxP German Properties AG, and DLE Group AG. He is currently the chairman of the supervisory board of DLE Group AG, a holding company for project development and fund advisory.
Rainer Schorr’s Passion for Hunting and Controversy
Schorr is not only a successful businessman but also a passionate hunter. He has participated in legal hunting expeditions in Africa, where he has killed some of the largest and rarest animals, such as elephants, lions, and leopards.
However, Rainer’s hunting activities have also sparked controversy and criticism from animal rights groups and the public, especially after he shot a massive elephant in Zimbabwe in 2015, which was believed to be one of the biggest elephants killed in Africa for almost 30 years.

Challenges Faced by Rainer Schorr in Professional Career
Some of the challenges that Schorr faced in his career are:
- He had to deal with the complex and risky process of privatizing the former East German enterprises after the reunification.
- He had to compete with other real estate companies in a dynamic and competitive market.
- He had to cope with the public outrage and criticism over his hunting activities, which tarnished his reputation and endangered his business relationships.
Allegation of PETA against Rainer Schorr
According to PETA, an animal rights organization, Schorr paid US$60,000 (£39,000) for a permit to hunt a large bull elephant with tusks weighing 121 and 123lb. The animal was one of the dwindling population of ‘super tuskers’, elephants with tusks that reach the ground. PETA offered a €1,000 reward to anyone who could identify the trophy hunter, and several sources subsequently named Schorr as the man who killed the elephant.
Rainer’s Clarification
Rainer Schorr denied the allegations, saying that he was at a trade fair in Munich, Germany when the hunt took place. He also claimed that he was a conservationist who supported wildlife projects in Africa. However, his former friend and business associate confirmed that hunting was Schorr’s “big passion” and that he partly owned a hunting farm in Namibia.
Rainer also said that he was surprised by Schorr’s actions, given the public outrage over the killing of Cecil the lion by an American dentist earlier that year.
